2010 Annual Conference

February 15-18, 2010

Our theme this year is "Creative Leadership in a Changing World" and our agenda is structured to encourage us all to continue to be Creative in our professional and everyday lives and continue to grow in our areas of expertise.  It is extremely important in this Changing World that we not only are Creative, but exemplify Leadership in our business offices and our school systems.

We will be beginning our third year of the NCASBO School Business Academy, and we encourage everyone to consider their own goals and aspirations as NCASBO continues to reach out to our members to address changing needs.

The 2010 NCASBO Annual Conference will be held at the Sheraton Four Seasons Hotel in Greensboro from February 15-18, 2010, and is now open for registration and to sign up for classes!  The NCASBO Conference Committee has worked very hard to respond to your suggestions, and to offer a great deal of variety for you to choose from.  When you access the conference, you will see that we have a truly jam-packed agenda!

To make reservations at the hotel, please call the Sheraton Four Seasons directly at 1-800-242-6556.  The conference room rate is $128 per night, for one person up to four persons in the room.  When making reservations, please tell them you are with "NCASBO", to obtain this rate and to count against our room block.  Our room block will be held through January 15th, so please make your room reservations as soon as possible!  Although the conference rate will be honored after that time, you will subject to total room availability for the hotel.

Before you register for the conference, please login and check your member profile to ensure that all of your information is correct, as your name tag will be produced by your name, position, and LEA/employer shown on the profile.  Also, check to verify that your membership is current.  If your membership is not showing "2010" or greater,  then your membership is not current, and you will need to pay your membership when you register for the conference to qualify for the members rate.

The membership year ends on June 30th.  Therefore, we highly encourage you to consider paying for the 2011 membership year (which begins on July 1st) in addition to the 2010 membership this year.  This will ensure that you will retain your active membership status on July 1st, and be able to access areas of the website eligible for members only, as well as to continue to receive emails and notices through the website.

When you register for the conference, please be sure to press submit at the end, which will then take you to the invoice screen.  If you do not reach the invoice screen, you are not actually registered for the conference.   If this should happen, please contact me at jbillings@bellsouth.net and I will be able to correct your registration for you.  The invoice is needed to send your payment to Karla Miller, our NCASBO Treasurer.  Also, we continue to have the capability to accept credit card payments through our secure site as well as check payments.  You will see this choice after pressing submit.

Although registration fees are not refundable, they are transferable to another person.  Please contact me at jbillings@bellsouth.net to change the name.

Please also be sure to register for the staff development classes on February 15th and 16th.  You will be able to "un-register" for these classes, and register for another if you change your mind after you enter your choices.  Finance Officers have first priority on staff development classes, due to certification requirements; however, we will make every effort to try to get everyone into the classes chosen, or to an acceptable alternative.  You will be notified prior to the conference if you have been approved for your class.  The NCASBO School Business Academy classes are available for registration through the Calendar of Events, and are also on February 15th and 16th, (although some of the classes are now full) so they will not appear with the regular conference staff development classes.

Mini-session descriptions are there for your information, but you are not able to register for them.  You will be able to make your choices by just attending the mini-session of your choice at the conference.

We hope that you will be there!
